Relate Bracelets And Woolworths Team Up To Tackle Hunger

Relate Bracelets, the 100% not-for-profit social enterprise, has teamed up with Woolworths to launch a brand new #zerohunger beaded chain, a portion of the proceeds of which will go towards The  Woolworths Trust to help alleviate hunger, and to support the work Relate does in creating jobs, and assisting charities.

Woolworths has been striving to be a caring and empowering community partner in the fight against hunger for many years through our various Food Security initiatives. We welcome the opportunity to partner again with Relate Bracelets as part of our Christmas Give campaign. This Christmas we are hoping to raise substantial funds through the sale of Relate’s beaded chains as well as other key Christmas products like our Christmas reusable shopping bags and crackers. These funds will be used to empower various charities across the country to grow more food and create sustainable solutions for a zerohunger future,” says Zinzi Mgolodela, Woolworths Director of Corporate Affairs.

Relate founder Lauren Gillis said the work done with Woolworths is a timely reminder to all South Africans of the importance of citizens joining hands to help out wherever possible during these particularly difficult times.

“By joining hands with Woolworths, we at Relate hope to raise enough money to make a real difference to those who most need our help. By purchasing these beaded chains, you won’t only stand in solidarity with those who are committed to fight the planet’s widespread hunger scourge, but you’ll also be helping the senior citizens of Ikamva Labantu who are responsible for putting these beaded chains together”, she says.

The #zerohunger beaded chains will be on sale at select Woolworths stores and on the Woolworths website for just R39.99 each.

Relate Bracelets raises funds for various charitable causes through the sale of beaded bracelets and chains. Lauren Gillis says the new chain is Relate’s latest contribution to alleviate distress in what has been an extremely difficult year for people across the world.

“We at the Relate Trust have been working hard to raise funds that make a real difference to the lives of those who need it the most. The support from Woolworths is a true testament to what we can achieve when working together as a team,” she adds.
