AFCON 2017: Agypt vs Mali Match Preview

The seven times Nations Cup champions, Egypt will lock horns with Mali (their opening game of AFCON 2017), when they will play in Group D game at Stade de Port Gentil on Tuesday. Mali is in great form during the qualifying stage of the tournament as they are unbeaten with 5 wins and a draw.

During the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, Mali fails to pass the group stage of the tournament after drawing all three games. However, Mali did well in the 2013 edition of the tournament after ending up on third place. Egypt last won the title back in 2010 Africa Cup of the Nations, which was their seventh AFCON title.

Even in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers, they won their two out of two games and hoping to repeat their 2010 success this year as well. Both, Egypt and Mali have only played twice in the past, which were both International friendly games.
