AFCON 2017: Algeria V Tunisia preview

The battle between the North African team will kick-start on 19th January, when Algeria will take on Tunisia in their second group game of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, Algeria escaped from Zimbabwe attack as they drew their first game. The Desert warrior went ahead in the 12th minute of the game, but conceded 4 minutes later.

Zimbabwe added another one on the half hour mark to put the Algerians on back put for about 52 minutes, before Riyad Mahrez scored his 2nd goal of the night to level things and share one point each.
Meanwhile, Tunisia suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Terenga lion of Senegal. This is their first ever defeat against West Africa side in over 40 years.
Both teams have met at the 2013 edition of AFCON hosted by South Africa, which was narrowly won by the Tunisian side with a lone goal to win the tie against their North Africa counterpart after 38 years.
Moreover, in the last 10 competitive games overall, Algeria have lost just once, compared to Tunisia 2 defeats.
