One of the favorites, Ghana will kick-off their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2017) campaign against Uganda at Stade de Port Gentil on 17th January. Black Stars finished the last edition of the tournament as the runner-up as they lost the final against the Elephants of Ivory Coast on penalties 9-8.
Ghana’s recent form in the Nations Cup is superb as they have been in great form, according to their latest performance.
However, the national side of Ghana is in superb form during their qualifying campaign, winning four games and drawing two games.
Currently, they are not in the best of their form, after drawing with Uganda in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers and losing to Egypt 2-0.
On the other hand, Uganda is not been in AFCON since last played in 1978, when they finished as runner-up. However, this edition they have qualified behind Burkina Faso as they won 4 games, drew 1 and lost 1.
According to the stats, both teams have met four times in the past, which also includes the World Cup qualifiers last October.
Meanwhile, both teams has won one game each in their previous meetings and drawn twice.
If Uganda can repeat their last year performance in October, they will grab three points in this game.
