AFCON 2017: Tunisia V Senegal preview

Tunisia, the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations champions will play against Africa’s number one team Senegal in a game, which has been dubbed as the biggest showdown in the early stage of the tournament of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, the Carthage eagles have failed to go through the quarter-final stage since they won and hosted the 2004 edition of the Nations Cup.


Meanwhile, Tunisia ranked third in Africa and been in great form in the past six months.

They only lost one game during the qualifiers stage of the tournament, but it was enough to top the group ahead of Togo, Liberia, and Djibouti.

The Teranga lions (Senegal) currently are top in the African top ten rankings and also been in great form with winning all their 6 games in Group K.

Well, in the AFCON, Senegal failed to go pass the group stage in the last edition in Equatorial and only able to make the final once in their last 13 AFCON appearance (i.e. 2002 edition in Mali).
