Stephen Appiah, the former Ghana captain has hailed and lauded the performance of the Ugandan Cranes against the Black Stars in their group opening match on Tuesday.
Despite of the fact that the Black Stars won by 1-0, the brilliant fight of the Cranes at the Port Gentil Stadium cannot be neglected.
Coach Micho’s side showed a quality performance in their first match. However, Andre Ayew’s superb spot kick proved to be sufficient to lead his team to three maximum points to start off their AFCON 2017 quest on a good note.
The former Ghana captain said, “I think Uganda were incredible on the day, they showed that they are a good side. I loved their spirit, they could have equalized if they had enough time. I think Uganda is a team everyone must watch in the competition.”
The Ugandan side is trying hard to win their upcoming match against Egypt on Saturday in order to sustain their hope to continue in the race for the Title.
